An easy spring dinner that shows off bulgogi’s versatility Just as there is no one right way to simmer up a marinara sauce, nor a single “correct” apple pie, there are myriad recipes for making bulgogi.A classic Korean dish of beef marinated in some combination of soy sauce, sugar, garlic and ginger, the meat is then grilled until the sauce caramelizes and condenses, turning salty and sweet, zingy and umami-rich. It’s those heady flavors mixed with the char that give the dish its deep appeal, making it one of the most beloved preparations of Korean cuisine — and one of the most adaptable. As my colleague Eric Kim put it a few years ago in a fascinating deep dive, versatility is one of bulgogi’s virtues.“If you grew up in a Korean household,” he wrote, “then the dish wasn’t just occasional barbecue; it was dinner on the regular, a quick pan-fry on the stovetop.”This weeknight recipe embodies that easygoing spirit. Its foundation is the marinade, which can be quickly whisked together with pantry staples. (If your pantry doesn’t already i...

What God and Education Mean for Your Sex Life Quality

What God and Education Mean for Your Sex Life Quality Faith and science are typically polar opposites. But regardless of your philosophical standpoint and how they influence your everyday decisions, sex is an intimate yet carnal need that almost every individual seeks. However, there seems to be a correlation between one’s knowledge and beliefs when it comes to their sex life quality. How do a person’s religious beliefs affect their sex life quality? The University of Exeter researchers surveyed individuals who consider themselves religious or spiritual. They found out that religious people reported having a more satisfactory sex life quality — despite having less frequent sex than average. One theory by Dr. Vegard Skirbekk (of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and Columbia University), “As religious individuals are less likely to engage in casual sex and are more likely to limit sexual activity to a relationship based on love this can lead to lower expectations of sexual activity outside a formal union, as well as increased satisf...

A Condom That Feels Better Than Bareback? Europe Already Has It… Condoms have prevented countless people from getting STDs and unplanned pregnancies. However, many still don’t like using it — after all, it can be uncomfy for many, especially for men. But there’s a new type of condom — it’s a condom that feels better than bareback, according to those who already tried the CSD500 condom. How is it possible that there’s a condom that feels better than bareback?Ohio State University researchers partnered with health experts from Vietnam to design a condom that feels better than bareback. Their report, which was published in The Journal of Sex Research, says that the condom design has “erectogenic” properties. The reason for this is that the tip of the condom has a small dose of glyceryl trinitrate gel — which is known to increase blood flow on the penis. In their study, around 500 couples were recruited to see how CSD500 will affect their sex life. Interestingly, those who used CSD500 said that it’s easier to put on and it feels “natural” to them. What...

Men vs. Women: Who Cheats More in 2023, and Why? Infidelity is, sadly, very common. Many of us know someone who’s been cheated on, and some may have experienced it themselves. On the other hand, others were the ones who have been unfaithful to their partners. But the gender of who cheats more and their reasons for doing it varies.Who Cheats More? Men or Women?Gender: Men Cheat MoreA study by the General Social Survey shows that men are more likely to cheat than women. Out of the men and women they gathered, 20% of the men have been unfaithful to their partners before, and 13% of women had sex with other people despite being in a relationship with someone else.Ages 20-29: Women Cheat MoreWomen in their 20s have the tendency to cheat on their spouses more than men. 11% of the women aged 18 to 29 said they cheated on their spouse before. However, when it comes to men of the same age group, 10% of them admit to being unfaithful to their spouse. Which doesn’t seem to differ much.Ages 30-39: Men Cheat MoreMen in their 30s, however, seem...

Kurtenbach: The Warriors took the Lakers’ best shot in Game 1. They weren’t terribly impressed SAN FRANCISCO — The Lakers played their best in Game 1. The Warriors did not.But while Los Angeles holds a 1-0 series lead after a 117-112 win, the Warriors are the team with the upper hand in this series. How can that be true?Because there’s nowhere else for the Lakers to go. They were as rested as they will ever be in this every-other-day series and executed their game plan perfectly on Tuesday.Meanwhile, the Warriors have ample runway for improvement. They were visibly exhausted throughout the contest, a byproduct of playing two games — including a Game 7 — in the four days before Tuesday’s series opener. They committed stupid fouls. They tried out a bunch of different lineups. They had no answer for the Lakers’ alpha. And yet, after all of that, Golden State was a wide-open Jordan Poole 3-pointer away from tying Game 1 with 9 seconds to play.Who is in control: The team with the series lead, or the team that nearly won but knows it can play much better?Warriors fa...
